About Us

Gunter Hiller started Hiller Precision Machining out of his garage in the mid-seventies. He quickly outgrew his garage and moved the business from his home to St. Michael, MN. He moved once more before setting into a building in Hanover, MN. From here, he grew his business doing work for many local companies such as; Honeywell, Hiawatha Rubber, TESCOM, Arctic Fox, and K-Tek.

In July of 2006, Gunter sold Hiller Precision to Bruce and Cindy Johnson. Keeping the name, Bruce and Cindy incorporated the business, continuing with Gunter’s current customers, many of whom we still have as customers today. After Gunter sold the business, he continued to work part-time at Hiller Precision until Bruce and Cindy moved to Zimmerman, MN in December 2013. Sadly, Gunter passed away the summer of 2014.

Over the years, Bruce and Cindy focused on upgrading the machinery to CNC machines with Swiss machining capabilities to be competitive in the world market. Hiller Precision grew in a niche market of short run, quick set up, production type work. Bruce and Cindy focused on high quality, on-time deliveries, and the highest standards in customer service. As they approached retirement in 2021, they sold the business to Nauman Machining and Design, LLC. Both Bruce and Cindy have continued to work with Nauman Machining and Design to teach and train new employees and ensure a smooth transition.

Hiller Precision was purchased in November 2021. Our new owner, Cal Nauman, has taken off right where Bruce and Cindy left off. Cal brings a dedication to quality, customer service, and the ambition to grow Hiller Precision.  With the addition of new machines to the shop floor and adding new employees, Hiller Precision has already seen impressive growth. Cal and the employees at Hiller Precision remain dedicated to our customers and ensure the highest standards of machining are met with each order.
